V³ News for Claude and other AI assistants
V³ News publishes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector so AI assistants can pull V³'s structured geopolitical intelligence straight into a conversation. Instead of scraping the open web, the assistant calls V³'s tools directly and answers with cited events, briefs, multi-perspective analysis, and live breaking news, each with a link back to v3.news.
MCP is the open standard behind connectors in Claude, and the same server is designed to plug into ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot as those surfaces mature. Build the connection once, use it everywhere MCP is consumed.
What you can ask
Once the connector is added, you can ask your assistant things like:
- "What is breaking geopolitically right now, per V³?"
- "Summarize V³'s latest global intelligence brief."
- "Search V³ for events on Taiwan and give me the risk and impact."
- "Per V³, is global risk rising or falling this week?"
- "Show me how different countries read this event and where they diverge." (V³ member connector)
The assistant will call the matching V³ tool, attribute the answer to V³ News, and include a link so you can open the full analysis on v3.news.
Tools the connector exposes
The public connector is open to everyone, no account required, and mirrors exactly what an anonymous visitor sees on v3.news:
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
| Search events | Ranked geopolitical events with why-it-matters and risk / impact / signal scores |
| Get event | A single event's summary, scores, and how much structured analysis V³ holds |
| Latest brief | V³'s latest global chief-of-staff brief |
| Breaking now | Events V³ is tracking in breaking tempo right now |
| Global pulse | The world's current risk / impact / signal reading and its recent trend |
The member connector adds tier-aware tools for signed-in V³ members: the signature multi-perspective breakdown of an event (how each country and category lens scores it, and where they diverge), plus country and category chief-of-staff briefs. Standard members get the full analysis; other tiers get a preview with a link to upgrade.
Every tool is read-only. The connector never writes to your V³ account and never takes an action on your behalf.
Add it to Claude
Public connector (no account):
- In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose "Add custom connector."
- Name it "V³ News" and enter the URL
https://mcp.v3.news/mcp. - Save. The V³ tools appear, and you can start asking.
Member connector (tier-aware, for V³ members):
- Add a second custom connector named "V³ News (member)" with the URL
https://mcp-member.v3.news/mcp. - Claude walks you through signing in to your V³ account.
- Once connected, the tools respect your subscription: Standard members get the full multi-perspective analysis and country and category briefs.
Privacy and attribution
The connector is a read-only window onto the same data V³ publishes on v3.news and in the mobile apps. It attributes every answer to V³ News and links back to the source. For details on how V³ handles data, see the Privacy Policy.
Availability
Claude is live today via the steps above. The same MCP server is the foundation for planned integrations with ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Questions or partnership interest: hello@v3.news.
Source of truth: docs/legal/connector.md in the V³ News repository. Any version difference between this page and that file is a deployment lag; the repository wins.
